EXIT AND OPENS CHOOSE YOUNG MUSIC STARS! THE TOUR GOES ON…

It’s been heated up and more and more difficult task is waiting for us. But let’s start from the beginning.

It is early in the morning, the camper is ready, the jury is packed and the playlist is made. OPENS Play@EXIT has a new adventure in front of it – patty, culture station and the Republic. Yup, we are going to Užice for the next band for this year’s EXIT!

“When we launched the competition, we knew what we wanted to achieve, but the execution actually went a step forward. No matter how insignificant it might look, we enabled young, usually high-school bands to play, to be heard by people who have been in this for a long time and to maybe perform at one of the best European festivals. At least that was the initial idea until we were blown away by the behaviour, energy and amazing sound of some of these bands”, Valentina Antić, OPENS International Cooperation Coordinator says.

Between 4 and 7 July, and for the first time in the history of Exit, Play@EXIT competition is coming to musicians, and the selection team of OPENS Play@EXIT competition consists of Valentina Antić, OPENS International Cooperation Coordinator and the members of EXIT Festival booking team, Milan Rakić, Igor “Zgro” Todorović and Miroslav Miletić. In each city, we have local support and partner.

“This is important because that is exactly the indicator of what we do. So, the idea is not for OPENS to come, listen to a band and leave. The idea is to include local organisations, to organise activations and events for young people in that part of Serbia and finally, we will take someone with us to the Fortress”, Valentina adds.

Užice was on fire. And now we need a week to recover. Pančevo – the city with the largest number of applications, get ready.

On Tuesday, 20 May, pop-rock band Rampa, indie electro-pop band Ljubičice, punk rock/power pop name Sindrom, grunge band Danga from Belgrade, funk and psychedelic rockers Aleja velikana, alter rock band Poptop, world/dnb/rnr band O Nomad from Belgrade, instrumental surfer Moussaka, punkers Ukratko Štef, groove metals Dusi, alternatives Reci Cimet and art pop singer Ksenija Kuljača will show their talents.
