“When we were announced the European Youth Capital in 2016, my second thought was – what after 2020, how to transform this great chance before us in a sustainable system and continuous programs. I have not doubted that we would do everything we had imagined and promised for a moment. What is waiting for us in the following year is to transform everything that we have done in a sustainable system of youth conditions, in the partnerships of organisations, local and republic governments. Based on the experience behind us, we will try to transfer the same sense to the following year”, Vukašin Grozdanović, OPENS Coordinator stated.
In the following years, European Youth Capital will try to retain as many activities and programs implemented so far as possible. The Mayor of the City of Novi Sad, Miloš Vučević stated that the Closing Ceremony of European Youth Capital is not the end, but a new beginning.
“The fact that we have handed over the keys does not mean that the door of Novi Sad will be closed. The door of Novi Sad must and will be wide open for all generous people, for young people full of energy, for those who want to change things and who believe that things can be better”, Vučević explains.
