We Could, But We Didn’t – OPENS On the Road for A New Puzzle

16 - 18 August Third Gymnasium, Thessaloniki

We could have limited the programs we have to the year of 2019 only. We did not, because with the programs which last for three continuous years, we can now talk about the actual results. We could have left the funds we get for the OPENS programs. We did not, because we believe that for a better image of Novi Sad, we need empowered youth organizations and organizations for young people. We could leave only in Novi Sad with the program. We did not, because this is a title of this city only, but is also an opportunity for the entire region. An opportunity to show what we can do together.

So, put your finger on the map of Novi Sad again, through Zagreb, Brač, Sarajevo, Banja Luka and go further, to Thessaloniki, because – OPENS is on the road again, and we bring the next colourful mural.

“The purpose of the “OPENS ON THE ROAD OPENS ITS DOOR” project is to promote peace and friendship among young people in the region, but also to encourage young people in the region to actively participate in their communities, as well as their innovation and creativity”, Valentina Antić, International Cooperation Coordinator says.

So, we continue last year’s campaign of peace and friendship in Thessaloniki, and by the end of the year, we will visit 4 more cities and open the door of Novi Sad to all young people. During the weekend, the colourful OPENS team is painting the murals with artist Petar Petrović PIROS!

During the painting of the last mural at the beginning of September, Novi Sad will be visited by guests and artists from the entire region to colour our city. Thereby, OPENS wants to encourage young people to actively participate in the tidying up their local community by adjusting the city to the taste and need of young people.

By this activity, we will encourage the development of street art and invite young people from Europe and the region to visit Novi Sad. Each mural is a puzzle, a part of a large puzzle – which will be presented at the end of 2020 at an exhibition.
