Ensemble Studio6 is celebrating hundred years since the birth of the composer and ethno-musicologist Ernő Király. Apart from the standard associate Richard Barrett, Ladik Katalin and Zsolt Sőrés will be members of Studio6 for this occasion.
The purpose of the project is the promotion of the creativity of this unique music personality at the area of former Yugoslavia, as well as the encouraging of new artistic interest in authentic Király’s instruments – citraphone and tablophone. The participants: Ladik Katalin, Richard Barrett, Zsolt Sőrés, Nenad Marković and Milana Zarić will perform the all-night programme which consists of Király’s graphic sheets, as well as open solos for harp, tablophone and citraphone, and the audience will have the chance to hear the premier performance of the piece of Richard Barret, Codex XXI, inspired by Király’s legacy.
The programme includes compositions such as Sonata geometrica, Actiones, Sonetto according to Michelangelo, Black and White according to Kadinski, Phoenix and Variation for Letter “B”.
Before the concert, the participants will hold a short lecture about Király’s music and their individual and mutual work on it.
