MEET NOVI SAD THROUGH ENERGY AND COLOURFUL SYMBOLS
When you entered the Hall 4 of the Belgrade Fair, right across the entrance, the view was pulling you to the wide stand of Novi Sad Tourist Organisation which was once again covered in colours of European Youth Capital Novi Sad 2019.
While some were playing games on VR and met Novi Sad and OPENS’ symbols through it, others were sending letters from European Youth Capital and were asking about the activities. The idea is simple – to introduce young people from all of Serbia to Novi Sad and the title of European Youth Capital.
“OPENS does not promote only its programmes, but also the programmes of its partnership organisations and there are more than 42 of them. Our stand is special for the energy the volunteers present because they themselves are a part of our team. The stand is simple, full of colours and details we bring”, Jelena Karać, Youth Activity Coordinator Assistant explains.
The travel itself, and the introduction to Novi Sad is not a metaphor. OPENS took care that the visitors at least for a moment imagine themselves in Novi Sad through the virtual reality games and to meet the trademarks of OPENS on that road.
“I like modern technology because thanks to it, both young and old people have the chance to learn something about Novi Sad. We had a performance, here at the Fair, and we noticed OPENS’ stand and we immediately came. I do not know what OPENS is, but I was interested in it and I would like to visit Novi Sad, as soon as possible”, one of the visitors says.
“I have heard about OPENS and I came to get more information about the programmes and activities, because my company is also interested in cooperation. I would like to come to Novi Sad, and even live there, because I have heard that there would be a lot of interesting events all year”, the following visitor explains.
Branislav Knežević , the director of TONS, announced the beginning of the realisation of the sightseeing programme in Novi Sad, from the Danube, which will be a novelty in the tourist offer of Novi Sad as of this year.
“Not only that, but we finished last year with a record number of nights spent by domestic and foreign tourists, and now we are presenting a new example of the brochure named “Novi Sad for Beginners”, by which the tourist offer of the city and its surrounding is promoted. The brochure was made in a completely new manner, it is very attractive and it genuinely reflects the potentials of the city, accompanied by new texts, illustrations, and the map. The brochure is created in Serbian and English language”, Knežević explains.
Vukašin Grozdanović, the Coordinator of European Youth Capital Novi Sad 2019 announced numerous programmes for young people, as well as conferences, gatherings of young people from the entire world, with the purpose of networking, as well as the positioning of Novi Sad as the regional centre of young people.
“Only last year, more than 80,000 young people from all of Europe participated in our programmes. This year, our goal is to reach the number of half a million young people who will pass through Novi Sad. We want to show that when it is worked with young people in a systematic, planned and continuous manner, in every field, even when creating the programmes intended primarily for young people, as it is, for example, OPENS Youth Fair, the results, as well as the larger number of young people are there”, Gvozdanović stated.
The stand of Novi Sad Tourist Organisations was an interesting place during those days, where, at the modern equipped stand, large number of journalists, representatives of travel agencies, our associates and friends were meeting and making arrangements about the new projects for the current year, and also enjoyed the promotion prepared by OPENS and TONS for its visitors.
